THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) THUNDER MASALA (C Maujean) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 1400m, MAJESTIC POWER (C F Dicken) was inconvenienced when racing in close proximity to the heels of LUTHULI (A Mgudlwa) which rolled in. Jockey A Mgudlwa (LUTHULI) appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground in races in future. c) At the 1300m, in a slow run race in the early stages, IMMEASURABLE (M Yeni) which was over-racing in the early and middle stages was eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of PURPLENINJATURTLE (*R A Venniker). d) CUPID'S SONG (R Fourie) which was over-racing in the early stages, was allowed to improve around the field at the 1200m and took up a forward position passing the 1000m. e) PURPLENINJATURTLE (*R A Venniker) and MAJESTIC POWER (C F Dicken) came together and brushed at the 300m. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning IMMEASURABLE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Suspension dates (25.07.2023 - 22.09.2023). Trainer P V Lafferty was advised (RS). g) CUPID'S SONG (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
