THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAT SCORPIO (D Daniels) was stubborn to load. Slow losing 2 lengths. b) ATTABOY (M Yeni) was slow and lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start ATTABOY (M Yeni) was carried out by MENT TO FLY (S Moodley) which jumped outwards. b) GENERAL BYNG (C Habib) raced green. c) CHAMPONELLE (*R A Venniker) was hanging in from the 500m. d) Trainer P V Lafferty signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the Chief Stipendiary Steward within 2 days that HELSINKI and QUESTION OF FAITH (Race 4) have been gelded. A fine of R250 was imposed. e) SEATTLE RIPPER (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (LB).
