Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BRIDGERTON (D Schwarz) kicked the back gates in the stalls, caught its right hind leg on the running board, was taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) RAIN BIRD (M Mjoka) and SWISS WALT (L Mxothwa) were stubborn loading. c) URSERN VALLEY (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls. d) LEGAL THRILLER (K Minnie) was nervous and stood awkwardly in the stalls. e) SOUND OF HOOVES (J Gates), CAMARA GREEN (S Naidoo) and THE LADY LOVE (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THE LADY LOVE (R Fourie) got its head up on a number of occasions while attempting to get cover in the early stages. b) At the 450m DEVIL A SAINT (G van Niekerk) had to be steadied when unable to secure clear running between EXCALIBUR (K Steyn) and SINGLE FILE (M Yeni). c) CAMARA GREEN (S Naidoo) was hanging in from the 200m. d) Jockey K Minnie reported that LEGAL THRILLER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) PISCES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
