Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	THEN IN FOCUS (S Naidoo), RASBERRY BERET (M Yeni) and HONEST QUEST (R Fourie) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start HONEST QUEST (R Fourie) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between INDUS KNIGHT (S Khathi) and BOLD STRIKE (Y Ramzan), both of which shifted ground marginally.
b)	At the 400m UNCLE GEORGE (E Webber) was brushed by INDUS KNIGHT (S Khathi), which was carried 	in by ELLIS ISLAND (M Mjoka), which shifted in away from the crop. Thereafter, after being straightened, 	ELLIS ISLAND (M Mjoka) commenced to hang inwards and carried UNCLE GEORGE (E Webber) 	inwards, resulting in a tiring SPIRIT OF SILVANO (S Khumalo) being momentarily inconvenienced 	between UNCLE GEORGE (E Webber) and the inside running rail.
c)	In the concluding stages LIGHT WITHOUT (R Khathi) was carried out marginally by DOUBLE CHECK (G 	van Niekerk), which rolled out.
d)	In view of the performance of SPIRIT OF SILVANO (S Khumalo) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to 	examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with RASBERRY BERET.  The Veterinary Surgeon 	was requested to examine this filly.
f)	In view of the performance of HONEST QUEST (R Fourie) (Betting 9/2; Distance 10.20 lengths) the 	Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
g)	DOUBLE CHECK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee Z 	Xamle, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (LM)
