THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AMANZIMTOTI (A Domeyer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) During the loading process, the bridle on KEEP THE LIGHTS ON (C Zackey) broke and had to be replaced, causing a delay. The bridle was examined by a Stipendiary Steward and was found to have been in a satisfactory condition. b) Approaching the 200m MALEDIMO (R Khathi) was awkwardly placed between KEEP THE LIGHTS ON (C Zackey) and a tiring IRIS (A Andrews). c) Jockey A Andrews reported IRIS did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) WHOA WHOA WHOA (AUS), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
