THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BEES AND HONEY (+S Myendeki) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BEES AND HONEY (+S Myendeki) hung in from the 400m. b) Work Rider S Mosia reported that POTATO SALAD made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) BAD HAIR DAY (+T Lukhele), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H van der Westhuizen advised (LK). When questioned regarding the improved performance of BAD HAIR DAY, Trainer H van der Westhuizen could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) SIRACHA was ridden by Work Rider C Mabaya (declared 10 August 2023 at 10H30). Stipes permission as Mr N Ngqwangi is not registered for the current season. b) ARCTIC FLAG: Work Rider T Ncume weighed out at 59,2kg, 1kg over the carded weight. Work Rider T Ncume was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on ARCTIC FLAG or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer J A Visser. Work Rider T Ncume signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 29 August 2023.
