THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	LANDINGONTHEMOON (C Habib) was stubborn loading.
b)	CAPTAIN ROMEO (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	MIDNIGHT ADVOCATOR (D Schwarz) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths.
d)	HOWE OF FIFE (E Webber) jumped slow, losing two lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After the running of the first race and in consultation with the Riders and the Course Manager, the official 	going was changed to good. This decision was made retrospectively to include Race 1.
b)	CAPTAIN ROMEO bumped a railing in the parade ring and dislodged Jockey L Mxothwa without incident. 	CAPTAIN ROMEO (L Mxothwa) was examined at the start by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed 	suitable to race.
c)	GREY SMOKE (C Maujean) was hanging in from the 300m.
d)	Approaching the 200m SINGLE FILE (M Yeni) and MISS TUCKER (R Fourie) brushed.
e)	TIGER IN RED (M Mjoka) was directed outwards and into clear running at the 200m.
f)	In view of the performance of HOWE OF FIFE (E Webber), which trailed the field throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
g)	An Inquiry will be held into Jockey S Khumalo's (BENNELONG POINT) riding in the concluding stages. 
h)	BENNELONG POINT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith 	was advised. (LM)
