Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SACRED VALLEY (J Gates) and EMERALD FLAME (M Mjoka) were stubborn loading.
b)	GREEN FALCON (S Khumalo), GREAT ECSTASY (L Mxothwa), HUMBLE TUNE (C Zackey) HOMER 	FIDGET (D Schwarz) and CAPTAINS WALK (J Jacobs) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start HOMER FIDGET (D Schwarz) was bumped by EMERALD FLAME (M Mjoka), which shifted inwards leaving the stalls.
b)	SACRED VALLEY (J Gates) got its head up on a number of occasions while being restrained to get cover in the early stages.
c)	Approaching the 400m GRAND DESTINY (M Yeni) was briefly held up when awkwardly placed on the outside of EMERALD FLAME (M Mjoka), which shifted out marginally.
d)	Jockey C Habib reported that CROSS EXAMINER did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey M Mjoka was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded 	weight on EMERALD FLAME. Jockey M Mjoka signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000.00. In 	determining penalty, the Stewards considered that this was Jockey M Mjoka's second offence on the day.
f)	GUNSMOKE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was 	advised. (LM)
