THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	EL ROMIACHI (C Habib) threw its head down as the start was effected and jumped slow, losing one length.
b)	SLINGS AND ARROWS (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	FOREST SPY (S Naidoo) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Leaving the 500m BRENDEN JAMES (D Schwarz) was tightened for galloping room between SLINGS 	AND ARROWS (C Zackey) and DAWN OF A NEW ERA (M Yeni) and made contact with the hindquarters 	of DAWN OF A NEW ERA (M Yeni), which was momentarily unbalanced.
b)	At the 300m EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (S Khumalo) was switched inwards sharply to obtain clear running.
c)	MOON GAME (L Mxothwa) was hanging in from the 300m.
d)	Leaving the 150m EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (S Khumalo) was directed outwards away from the heels of DAWN OF A NEW ERA (M Yeni).
e)	In view of the performance of PRINCE VIHAAN (S Khathi), which pulled hard in the early stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	DAWN OF A NEW ERA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K 	Mitchley was advised. (LM)
