THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEA ANEMONE (J P van der Merwe) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) PATON'S TEARS (S Khumalo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STRANGE MAGIC (G Lerena) proved reluctant proceeding to the start and had to be led. Assistant Trainer T Dawson, acting on behalf of Trainer C Dawson, was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. b) Approaching the 1400m, LADY REGENT (P Mxoli) ducked out sharply, failed to negotiate the turn and was eased out of the race. When taking into account this filly's poor racing manners, LADY REGENT has been suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4, until such time as she proves tractable jumping and galloping around the turn with a companion on a Raceday to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Assistant Trainer T Dawson, acting on behalf of Trainer C Dawson, was advised (DR). c) SEA ANEMONE (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
