THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1200m, ROSY LEMON (C Habib) was steadied momentarily to avoid the heels of THE INKOSANA (G Lerena), which rolled out marginally and was corrected. b) An inquiry will be opened to establish why SUMMERLAND (S Khumalo) was bumped and unbalanced at the 200m. c) Jockey P Mxoli reported that LIVERPOOL LEGEND made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that SKYFULL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) EVERY CLOUD (*S Sosibo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B D Botes advised (DD). When questioned regarding the improved performance of EVERY CLOUD, Trainer B D Botes explained to the Board that the drop in class and the fitting of blinkers had accounted for this gelding's improved performance. Trainer B D Botes has undertaken to race this gelding similarly equipped in future. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) SUMMERLAND: Jockey S Khumalo weighed out at 55,4kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. b) SKYFULL: Jockey Wes Marwing weighed out at 54,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
