THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	WRITTEN IN STONE (J R Syster) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	LIFE GOES ON (C Habib) hung out around the turn.
b)	RUNWAY BOMB (J Gates) hung out from the 500m to the 200m and thereafter took a number of awkward strides in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 	
c)	At approximately the 250m, TREATY (J Penny) was steadied when awkwardly placed between ROCK ON CAPTAIN (J P van der Merwe), which rolled in marginally, and TUSCAN GOLD (G Lerena), which commenced to give ground to the field. 
d)	In view of the performance of TUSCAN GOLD (G Lerena), (distance 8,75 lengths, betting 9/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
e)	Jockey D Schwarz reported that ARILENA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. 	
f)	Trainer P F Matchett was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate ARILENA against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer P F Matchett signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.
g)	AMPERSAND (*S Sosibo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
