THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PETIT VERDOT (S Moodley) jumped awkwardly leaving the starting stalls resulting in Jockey S Moodley becoming unbalanced. b) At approximately the 1300m DIANA THE HUNTRESS (M Yeni) was brushed out by SOLDIER'S EYE (K A Brewer) which commenced to over-race for a short distance. c) Approaching the 200m PETIT VERDOT (S Moodley) was carried in by GRANDI ORECCHIE (*T Mayhew) which was hanging in from the 400m, and rolled in. d) In view of the performance of MIDNIGHT CRYSTAL (R Fourie) (12.10 lengths, 5/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) SEA GODDESS (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
