THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DUTCHESSBURNEDETTE (*M K Katjedi) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) LOUVAIN (*X Jacobs) and CHERINGOMA (*P Mxoli) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The saddle on ROSE WILLOW slipped back in running. This was confirmed by an Official. b) MS FLOWER POWER (*C F Dicken) shifted out significantly away from the crop at the 200m. Apprentice Dicken appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised to take the necessary corrective measures to keep his mounts straight in races. c) Apprentice K A Brewer reported that LETHA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Apprentice S Hlengwa the rider of WILLOW LANE rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) CHERINGOMA (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Titise advised (LN). APPRENTICE CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LOUVAIN raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 27 January 2022 at 10H09). b) MS FLOWER POWER raced with a cornell collar and raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 2 February 2022 at 08H36). c) FLYING FIRST CLASS raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 1 February 2022 at 11H21). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LOUVAIN scalp wound left hind. b) MS FLOWER POWER blowing. c) LETHA abnormal respiratory noise and fatigued. d) WILLOW LANE choked up, fatigued and stirrup rub left side.
