THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAMBO'S CALL (C Habib) was stubborn loading and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) KIMBOLTON CASTLE (D Schwarz) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) MONDIAL (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, HOLOCENE (J P van der Merwe) and HOUSE OF ROMANOV (C Zackey) were brushed in by KIMBOLTON CASTLE (D Schwarz), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) Shortly after the start, CARE LAIR FARE (*M K Katjedi) and PEARL HARBOR (J Penny) came together and bumped. c) KIMBOLTON CASTLE (D Schwarz) and HOUSE OF ROMANOV (C Zackey) over-raced in the early and middle stages. d) Jockey R Danielson reported that LE FORT BION made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) MONDIAL (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (LK).
