THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BUTTERFLY QUEEN (J Gates) was nervous in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. b) PONDEROSA PINE (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride. c) BALLYCOTTON (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FIRST MINISTER (S Naidoo) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) FIERY CLIFFS (S Khumalo) was hanging in in the straight and shifted in between the 250m and the finish. c) FIERY CLIFFS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
