THE STARTER REPORTED A) VICTORIA TOWER was nervous in the stalls. B) FLAMING LASS rushed the front gate in the stalls. C) AFTERNOON TEA fly jumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) MESMERIZING MOON (K Minnie) was carried outwards from the 300m to the 100m by BAD HABIT (X Ndlovu) which rolled out from the 350m. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, BAD HABIT and MESMERIZING MOON came together and brushed when carried inwards by AFTERNOON TEA (*K A Brewer) which hung in from the 250m. This incident resulted in GLACIER GOLD (G Cheyne) being carried inwards marginally shortly before the finish. B) The winner AFTERNOON TEA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). C) The second placed horse GLACIER GOLD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) FLAMING LASS raced equipped with a compression mask and with ear muffs (10:52 - 31/01/2022). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) VICTORIA TOWER coughing and not striding out right fore. B) BAD HABIT coughing. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
