THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start COUNT MARSH (S Moodley) was brushed in by RALPH THE RASCAL (M Yeni). b) PARMENION (C Maujean) and SUNDANCE KID (C Habib) which was hanging in, in the straight brushed on a number of occasions between the 400m and 250m. c) RALPH THE RASCAL (M Yeni) was baulked between the 350m and 300m and thereafter was switched in around runners to obtain a clear run. d) At the 350m, BALLY MAGIC (M Thackeray) which had come to the end of its run, was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between ONE IRISH ROVER (M V'Rensburg) and PARMENION (C Maujean). e) Leaving the 200m, HIGH VELOCITY (*S Hlengwa) which was hanging in from the 300m, and ONE IRISH ROVER (M V'Rensburg) came together and brushed. f) In view of the performances of STRAIGHT UP (S Khumalo) (9.55 lengths, 7/1 in the betting) and COUNT MARSH (S Moodley) (5.25 lengths, 6/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) RALPH THE RASCAL (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey M V'Rensburg was the rider of ONE IRISH ROVER (advised 26.08.2023/09h43). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
