THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE NAVY LARK (F Herholdt) and STORM PLAYER (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) STRIKING ANGEL (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) SPIRIT IN THE WIND (R Danielson) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, losing three lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SPIRIT IN THE WIND (R Danielson) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, resulting in Jockey R Danielson having to adjust the footing to his right-side stirrup iron and this filly giving ground to the field. SPIRIT IN THE WIND, unable to make up the deficit, trailed the field throughout. b) Shortly after the start, STRIKING ANGEL (C Habib), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, was bumped in by EMMA OF NORMANDY (C Maujean), which in turn was brushed in STORM PLAYER (C Zackey), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) LIBERTY FLAG (J Gates) hung out from the 200m. d) Jockey P Mxoli, the rider of LIFE LESSON, accidentally dropped his crop at the 50m. e) STORM PLAYER (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
