THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MILITARY MAN (R Fourie) and AND IT'S OVER (R Khathi) were stubborn loading. b) SASSY (M Yeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 500m SASSY (M Yeni) and PRINCE OF DENMARK (G van Niekerk) brushed. Shortly thereafter FEARLESS BADGER (L Mxothwa) had to be steadied momentarily when close to the heels of PRINCE OF DENMARK (G van Niekerk), which shifted in away from SASSY (M Yeni). b) In view of the performance of AND IT'S OVER (R Khathi), which gave ground to the field from the 1000m and finished tailed off, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) SASSY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
