Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLD GUNNER (K Matsunyane) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) UBUKHWEBEZANA (O Noach) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The movable inside running rail at the start had to be re-aligned, causing a delay. b) Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of this race. Immediately after the running of this race, heavy rain fell. The Stewards, in consultation with the Jockeys and the Racing Operator, rescheduled the start time of Race 3 to allow time for the weather conditions to improve. c) GRAVITY (G van Niekerk) was hanging in in the latter stages. d) Jockey J Gates reported that CAPTAIN COOL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Trainer MH Maingard was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/owners of CASINO ACE. Stable Employee C Kensley, acting on behalf of Trainer MH Maingard signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer HM Maingard was given a warning. f) WAR CHARIOT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised.
