THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KITTY MO (S Veale) was restless and broke through the front gates and was restrained by the rider. Examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. Trainer D C Howells was advised to re-school this filly (SL). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) BIGHAIRDUNCARE (*N Nastili) was hanging out from the 500m and shifted out away from the crop between the 400m and 250m. b) FLIGHT DISPLAY (T Godden) was hanging out from the 500m and shifted out away from the crop on a number of occasions thereafter. c) In view of the performances of TROPICAL BREEZE (M Thackeray) (30.70 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), DYMONDIA (S Moodley) (57.00 lengths, 16/1 in the betting) and KITTY MO (S Veale) (19.70 lengths, 9/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) PRINCESS AZARIAH (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
