Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, NKANDLA GOLD (+G Dadamasi) was unruly, thereafter restless in the stalls and slow into stride. The starting stall certificate for this colt has been withdrawn. Trainer B Webber was advised (GT). b) GUARDIA REGINE (+S Mosia) was restless in the stalls. c) PEDASOS (+A Feni) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Work Rider S Mosia reported that he felt something amiss with GUARDIA REGINE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to NKANDLA GOLD, this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 15 September 2023 to 21 September 2023. NKANDLA GOLD may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B Webber was advised. c) Work Rider T Lukhele was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of ROCK OF BISMANTOVA, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider T Lukhele signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 28 September 2023. d) Work Rider S Myendeki was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of PLAY WITH FIRE, misused his crop by striking this filly more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Work Rider S Myendeki signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 28 September 2023. e) CREPUSCOLO (+T Matsoele), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) PEDASOS: Work Rider A Feni weighed out at 60,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. b) NKANDLA GOLD: Work Rider G Dadamasi weighed out at 57,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) PEDASOS raced equipped with blinkers (declared 11 September 2023 at 12H51). b) PIKE PLACE raced equipped with cheek pieces and without a compression mask (declared 13 September 2023 at 08H08).
