Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BOOM BOOM (K Matsunyane) reared in the stalls. b) WILD WILLOW (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) THE WORK OF LIFE (M Yeni) and CRIMSON FOREST (P Mxoli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, CRIMSON FOREST (P Mxoli) and WILD WILLOW (C Habib), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, came together and brushed on two occasions. b) ANGEL OF MY HEART (G Lerena) over-raced in the early stages and thereafter hung in from the 200m. c) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that he felt something amiss with ENCHANTED ROYAL in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) ARIEL'S JET (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer E Verdonese advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) VILLA SEMAYA raced equipped with blinkers (declared 14 September 2023 at 08H40). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ENCHANTED ROYAL examined post race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
