THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ROYAL INVITATION (A Domeyer) and CRYSTAL MAIDEN (M Mjoka) made contact leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	From a wide draw PENTOLINA (G van Niekerk) was taken in behind runners shortly after the start.
b)	At the 500m TAP SHOES (C Zackey) and PENTOLINA (G van Niekerk) made contact on two occasions when TAP SHOES (C Zackey), which showed a tendency to hang in, shifted in marginally. Thereafter, leaving the 250m, TAP SHOES (C Zackey) and PENTOLINA (G van Niekerk) brushed on three occasions when PENTOLINA (G van Niekerk), which was hanging out, rolled outwards. Jockeys C Zackey (TAP SHOES) AND G van Niekerk (PENTOLINA) appeared before the Board, were shown the patrol film and advised that the Stewards expected them to straighten their mounts more timeously than they had on this occasion.
c)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that JET TO THE SUN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on PENTOLINA, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00.
