Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUCKY DOLLAR (D Daniels) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start PRINCEKRESH (*K J Lihaba) was carried in by ONE TOO MANY (*B Plaatjies) which jumped in leaving the stalls. Shortly thereafter, PHINDA MZALA (C F Dicken) and PRINCEKRESH (*K J Lihaba) were bumped on a number of occasions between ESQUEVELLE (C Zackey) which rolled out and ONE TOO MANY (*B Plaatjies). b) At the 350m PHINDA MZALA (C F Dicken) and ONE TOO MANY (*B Plaatjies) came together and brushed. c) Leaving the 300m PRINCEKRESH (*K J Lihaba) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of LUCKY DOLLAR (D Daniels) which shifted out sharply away from the crop and was straightened. d) Approaching the 150m, ESQUEVELLE (C Zackey) was carried out marginally by DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN (C Habib) which rolled out. Thereafter, in the concluding stages DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN (C Habib) and ESQUEVELLE (C Zackey) rolled in. e) In view of the performance of PRINCEKRESH (*K J Lihaba) (10.00 lengths, 9/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer W Badenhorst will be advised to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. f) Apprentice B Plaatjies (ONE TOO MANY) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) ESQUEVELLE (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Binda advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) HUNZA ROAD raced equipped with blinkers (advised 22.09.2023/10h04). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PRINCEKRESH : Nothing obvious detected. b) GIMME A RAINBOW : Returned post-race having cast the right hind shoe.
