THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ANCIENT EPIC (*N Nastili) was restless in the stalls. Jumped awkwardly and lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start ANCIENT EPIC (*N Nastili) jumped out and ran onto the hindquarters of BOMBER GIRL (C Zackey). b) At the 500m, ANCIENT EPIC (*N Nastili) bumped the inside running rail. c) SABATINI (T Godden) was hanging out from the 300m. d) PELARGONIUM (*R A Venniker) shifted in away from the crop from the 150m. e) In view of the performances of ANCIENT EPIC (*N Nastili) (5.00 lengths, 4/1 in the betting) and HOT PEARL (C Habib) (8.30 lengths, 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Apprentice B Plaatjies (AUNTY LIZZY) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) PELARGONIUM (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
