THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MADAM SENATOR (R Khathi) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start ANA NOBA (*T Mayhew) and LEMON SCENT (A Mgudlwa) were carried in by BUBBLES ON ICE (C F Dicken) which jumped inwards. b) At the 400m FLIGHT DISPLAY (T Godden) shifted out away from the crop. c) MYSTIQUE ROUGE (S Moodley) was hanging in from the 400m. An objection was lodged by Jockey S Moodley on behalf of the second placed horse MYSTIQUE ROUGE against the winner FLIGHT DISPLAY (T Godden) on the grounds of interference at the 400m. After considering the evidence presented, the Board over-ruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered the degree of interference suffered and the distance at which the incident had occurred and that it held the view that MYSTIQUE ROUGE (S Moodley) would not have finished ahead of FLIGHT DISPLAY (T Godden) had this incident not occurred. Therefore, it overruled the objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Jockey Moodley's deposit was refunded. d) Jockey C F Dicken reported that he felt something amiss in the running with BUBBLES ON ICE. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey C Habib reported that BALLYCOTTON did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) FLIGHT DISPLAY (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
