THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NOW I GOT YOU (G Lerena) and CAPSAICIN (P Mxoli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Zackey (BOB'S YOUR UNCLE) did not persevere with his riding from the 600m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) CAPSAICIN (P Mxoli) shifted out both ways away from the crop from the 300m. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that ARCHIMIDES changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) CAPSAICIN (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (MS). When questioned regarding the improved performance of CAPSAICIN, Trainer A Azzie could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CAPSAICIN was ridden by Jockey P Mxoli (declared 28 September 2023 at 15H22).
