Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HARAJUKU (A Andrews) was restless in the stalls. b) GREETING MY MASTER (A Arries) jumped awkwardly outwards, losing one length. c) HARAJUKU (A Andrews) and FIBONACCI (O Noach) made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) There was a lengthy delay with the all-clear being announced due to a technical issue in the Judge's box. b) HLUHLUWE (G van Niekerk) and COASTAL COMMANDER (G Wright) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. c) Leaving the 1000m LE LEGIONNAIRE (C Orffer) raced onto the heels of ZOOMIE (L Mxothwa) and shifted out. Thereafter LE LEGIONNAIRE (C Orffer) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. d) Approaching the 300m ZOOMIE (L Mxothwa) was awkwardly placed outside the heels of LILY OF THE NILE (C Zackey). e) At the 200m JERUSALEMA RAIN (A Domeyer) rolled in and made contact with the hindquarters of LEXICAN POINT (A Mgudlwa) and then had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between LEXICAN POINT (A Mgudlwa) and HARAJUKU (A Andrews), which rolled in. f) Jockey C Zackey was unable to ride LILY OF THE NILE, which showed a tendency to hang in, to the finish when awkwardly placed between the heels of HLUHLUWE (G van Niekerk) and ZOOMIE (L Mxothwa). e) HLUHLUWE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
