THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GLOBAL RUSH (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading.
b)	STATE OF MIND (J Gates) was nervous and rushed the front gates in the starting stalls.
c)	TARTAN DANCER (E Webber) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockeys R Khathi and M Mjoka, the riders of SYMBOL OF LOVE and ECLAIR respectively, reported that these mares did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
b)	Jockey K Minnie reported that BATIK did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c)	In view of the performance of MOVE ON OVER (X Ndlovu) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	Jockey J Gates was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of STATE OF MIND he misused his crop by striking STATE OF MIND more than 12 times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey J Gates signed an admission of guilt and was fined R4000,00.
e)	STATE OF MIND, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM)
