Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COMMANDING (C Little) jumped inwards and made contact with STREET OUTLAW (R Fourie). b) SCOTTISH KISS (S Veale) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FIRINGONALLENGINES (M Mjoka) proved difficult proceeding to the start and was assisted by a Handler, causing a delay. Trainer M Rix was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. b) At the 1000m the saddle on SCOTTISH KISS, which over raced in the early stages, slipped forward, placing Jockey S Veale at a disadvantage. As a consequence, SCOTTISH KISS (S Veale) raced very wide on the turn and into the straight and the lead bag became detached after the finish line. The lead bag was recovered and Jockey S Veale weighed in at the correct weight. c) At the 800m ELSINORE (C Bantam) raced onto the heels of STREET OUTLAW (R Fourie) and had to be steadied. d) SOOTY (D Ashby) was hanging out from the 300m. e) At the finish ALL ABOUT AL (C Zackey), which was initially carried outwards by PIROSHKA (G Wright), which was hanging out, was steadied when awkwardly placed between PIROSHKA (G Wright) and SOOTY (D Ashby), which rolled in marginally. f) Jockey A Arries was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on PRINCE OF TIBET or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of Rider. Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. g) STREET OUTLAW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer MH Maingard was advised.
