THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WINDRUNNER (M Winnaar) was slow into stride. b) KABON KAPI (*MK Katjedi) and DESTINED TO DANCE (J Solomons) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) During the canter past, BENEATH THE MOON took charge of Jockey C Bantam, bolted the course, was examined by the course veterinary Surgeon on its return to the parade ring and withdrawn. b) SHIKOKU (O Noach), DE JANIERO (R Fourie) and FALLO ANCORA (G van Niekerk) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. c) Approaching the 900m KABON KAPI (*MK Katjedi) raced onto the heels of JUST BEFORE DAWN (A Mgudlwa) and had to be steadied. d) Jockey J Solomons reported that DESTINED TO DANCE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) RED PALACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
