THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NKANDLA GOLD (+C Mabaya) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow, losing one length. b) TOGETHER AGAIN (+S Mkhumbuzi) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, MARY'S GREENLIGHT (+A Feni) was bumped by TOGETHER AGAIN (+S Mkhumbuzi), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) MARY'S GREENLIGHT (+A Feni) shifted out away from the crop at the 300m and thereafter commenced to hang out. c) RUGGER LOVER (+T Matsoele), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (LK). d) VOSHAARNOOI (+S Myendeki), placed fourth, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (AH). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) MARY'S GREENLIGHT: Work Rider A Feni weighed out at 57,2kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) NKANDLA GOLD is a gelding (gelded 15 September 2023). Trainer B Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that NKANDLA GOLD had been gelded. Trainer B Webber signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
