THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LANDINGONTHEMOON (JP van der Merwe) and BOB LEE SWAGGER (S Khumalo) were stubborn loading. b) BIG FIVE (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) PRINCE OF DENMARK (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. d) WAR SWORD (K Minnie) and HE'S A GAUL (E Webber) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 700m HE'S A GAUL (E Webber) was steadied away from the heels of WAR SWORD (K Minnie), which shifted out. Jockey K Minnie (WAR SWORD) appeared before the Board and was advised to take more care in similar circumstances. b) Jockey K Minnie reported that WAR SWORD took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) PRINCE OF DENMARK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
