THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PAS DE NOM (K de Melo) and PORT LOUIS (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter were slow into stride. b) POPPING CREASE (M Winnaar) jumped awkwardly. c) WYAG (S Khumalo) jumped inwards and carried COUNTDOWN (R Fourie) inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) COUNTDOWN (R Fourie), ITSRAININGWILLIAM (G van Niekerk), POPPING CREASE (M Winnaar) and PORT LOUIS (L Mxothwa) raced green. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported WYAG made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) COUNTDOWN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
