Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DEEPAK EXPRESS (J Solomons) jumped slow, losing one length.
b)	MOREMI GORGE (C Zackey) and IGUGULETHU (A Domeyer) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Due to a technical issue, there was a delay with the release of the Official result. 
b) 	Between the 450m and the 400m MIRACULOUS MAN (A Arries) and IGUGULETHU (A Domeyer) were carried outwards by DECEPTION PASS (G Lerena), which raced green and showed a tendency to hang outwards. 
c)	At the 200m MIRACULOUS MAN (A Arries) rolled in slightly and then had to be checked when tightened for galloping room between DECEPTION PASS (G Lerena), which continued to hang out and rolled out slightly while being straightened, and IGUGULETHU (A Domeyer). In this incident MIRACULOUS MAN (A Arries) made contact with the hindquarters of IGUGULETHU (A Domeyer), which was momentarily unbalanced. Jockey G Lerena appeared before the Board and was advised that while the Stewards accepted that DECEPTION PASS (G Lerena) was still showing a degree of greenness, he needs to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
d)	Jockey B Fayd'Herbe was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on UNICORN ALERT, resulting in a change of rider. Jockey B Fayd'Herbe signed an admission of guilt and was fined R5000.00. In determining penalty, the Stewards considered Jockey B Fayd'Herbe's poor recent record with regards to a contravention of this Rule.
e)	Trainer SJ Snaith was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that UNICORN ALERT had been gelded. Trainer SJ Snaith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R 250,00.
f)	TYRION LANNISTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PAW Botha was advised. (WM)
