Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BENJAMIN (A Andrews) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls. b) RESONATE (G Wright) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 800m BENJAMIN (A Andrews) was brushed outward by RESONATE (G Wright), which raced awkwardly on the early part of the turn. b) On entering the straight Jockey A Andrews elected to allow BENJAMIN, which showed a tendency to hang out, to shift out and thereafter, BENJAMIN raced on the outside of the course. c) Leaving the 300m KWINTA'S LIGHT (G van Niekerk) was unable to secure a clear run between MUFASA (L Mxothwa) and KISS ME CAPTAIN (R Fourie) and had to be steadied and directed to the outside of KISS ME CAPTAIN (R Fourie) to continue its run. d) At the 150m MR COBBS (A Domeyer) was directed inwards to obtain clear running. e) KISS ME CAPTAIN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie was advised.
