THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A PLACE IN THE SUN (K Matsunyane) and THE CHOSEN ONE (K A Brewer) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) TREATY (*M K Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BIG CITY GIRL (P Mxoli) and THE CHOSEN ONE (K A Brewer) came together and bumped. b) At approximately 1400m, UNIVERSAL LOVE (*T Mayhew) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the inside of TREATY (*M K Katjedi), which commenced to over-race and shifted in. c) Jockey M Yeni, the rider of CREPUSCOLO, briefly dropped his left-side rein at the 400m and thereafter CREPUSCOLO hung out in the concluding stages. d) A PLACE IN THE SUN (K Matsunyane) shifted in away from the crop from the 300m. e) GODFATHER (C Maujean) jumped a patch at approximately the 50m. f) Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that he felt something amiss with ANYTIME CHAMP in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) CARNELO (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S M Naidoo advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) PASCHALS SAMORE raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 19 October 2023 at 09H16). b) BIG CITY GIRL raced without a tongue tie (declared 21 October 2023 at 07H12). c) BIG CITY GIRL raced with club colours (black with a blue cap) Stipes permission.
