THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ATLANTIC EAGLE (N Patel) was slow into stride. b) FIREFLARE (C Zackey) and FATED CHESTNUT (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. c) MOUNTAIN OF SMOKE (B Jacobson) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MOUNTAIN OF SMOKE (B Jacobson) over-raced in the early stages and compounded in the straight. b) Approaching the 1400m ATLANTIC EAGLE (N Patel) which over-raced in the early stages, was brushed out by FATED CHESNUT (*S Hlengwa) which rolled out. c) JOSEPHINE'S PRIDE (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 400m, proving difficult to assist. d) HELL'S BELLS (*R A Venniker) was hanging in from the 350m. e) Jockey D Daniels reported that he felt something amiss in the running with REGINA ARGENTO and as a result did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. f) Jockey T Godden reported that KING'S ISLAND made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) FUTURE OF ENERGY (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Dixon advised (DZ).
