Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) RAIN BIRD (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls, stood awkwardly and jumped slow, losing one length.
b) HEARTLIGHT (*T Mayhew) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Due to the delay in the previous race and the time constraints between races 1 and 2, the Stewards instructed the riders to proceed directly to the start.
b) Leaving the 500m PITON DE NEIGE (D Schwarz) had to be steadied away from the heels of HEARTLIGHT (*T Mayhew) when bumped on the hindquarters by RAIN BIRD (C Maujean), which brushed the inside running rail and shifted outwards.
c) PITON DE NEIGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised. (LM)
