Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	PEMBROKE (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Shortly after the start ON THE ROAD AGAIN (R Fourie) and MISTER WHISTLE (J Gates) made contact when awkwardly placed between LIFE ON MARS (S Khumalo) and PEMBROKE (M Yeni), which shifted outwards leaving the stalls.
b)	EL ROMIACHI (*T Mayhew) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. 
c)	At the 300m ON THE ROAD AGAIN (R Fourie) was directed inwards and into clear running.
d)	In the concluding stages PEMBROKE (M Yeni) had to be steadied away from the heels of WIND SOCK (D Schwarz), which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey D Schwarz appeared before the Board and was advised that the Stewards expected him to straighten his mounts sooner than he had on this occasion in similar circumstances.
e)	TIMBAVATI RIVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee G Venter, acting on behalf of Trainer TJ Laing, was advised. (LM)
