Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	DUKE OF SUSSEX (C Zackey) was slow losing three lengths. Trainer M N Houdalakis was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT).
b)	WHAFEEF (*T Mayhew) and PYROMANIAC (G Lerena) were slow losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	RUNNING RIFLES (S Khumalo) tired badly in the concluding stages and was not persevered with. 
In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	Jockey K Matsunyane reported that SOLAR POWER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
c)	Apprentice T Mayhew was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he, as the rider of WHAFEEF, misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. 
Apprentice T Mayhew signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R4000 was imposed.
d)	SILENT WAR (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. 
Trainer A P Peter advised (MS).
	
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	JULIET TANGO: Apprentice R A Venniker weighed out 53,6kg, only claiming 1,0kg of her 1,5kg apprentice allowance.

a)	SOLAR POWER examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
