Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	FUSHIMI INARI (C Habib) reared in the stalls as the start was effected, resulting in this gelding losing two lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	In the closing stages, AMERICAN BISCUIT (S Khumalo) shifted out slightly and thereafter was carried in marginally on two occasions by MO THE MAN (G Lerena), which shifted inwards. 
Trainer T Zackey lodged an objection on behalf of the second-placed horse, AMERICAN BISCUIT (S Khumalo), against the winner, MO THE MAN (G Lerena), on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the closing stages. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence presented by the relevant parties, was of the opinion that although AMERICAN BISCUIT (S Khumalo) had been carried in slightly, the result of the race was never in question and that the margin of 1,50 lengths between the two horses suggested as such. As in the opinion of the Objection Board, the result had not been affected by this incident, and the objection had no prospect of success, the objection was overruled, the Judge's result was allowed to stand, and the deposit was declared forfeit. This incident will be reviewed insofar as Jockey Lerena's contribution to the matter.
b)	Jockey J Penny reported that FOLLOW MY PATH changed stride continually in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
c)	MO THE MAN (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. 
Stable Employee M Boya was advised (MduP). 	
	
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	SPRING IN HEAVEN was ridden by Apprentice R A Venniker, who weighed out at 53,6kg, only claiming 1,0kg of her 1,5kg apprentice allowance 
	Stipes permission as Jockey R Fourie had a flight to catch.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a)	AMERICAN BISCUIT raced equipped with blinkers (declared 24 October 2023 at 07H30).	

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a)	FOLLOW MY PATH examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
