Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARVEL WILLIAM broke through the front gates of the starting stalls, dislodged Jockey R Fourie, bolted the course and was withdrawn by the course Veterinary Surgeon, causing a delay. b) INNAMORARE (G van Niekerk) jumped inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start INTIMIDATOR (A Andrews) shifted in and had to be steadied away from the heels of TAMARISK TREE (C Zackey). b) At the 150m SUN DAZED (G Wright), which was hanging in, was directed outwards away from the heels of CHARLIE CROKER (A Domeyer). Thereafter, SUN DAZED (G Wright) continued to hang in, proved difficult to assist and shifted in, resulting in CHARLIE CROKER (A Domeyer) having to steady at the finish. c) Jockey A Andrews reported that INTIMIDATOR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MARVEL WILLIAM (R Fourie), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 30/10/2023 to 05/11/2023 inclusive). MARVEL WILLIAM may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) SUN DAZED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
