Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DAME OF FLAMES (R Munger) broke through the front gates. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer A B Fortune was advised (GT). b) DARK VISION (S Brown) was slow losing two lengths. c) ELUSIVE SWANN (C Maujean) and WONDERING STAR (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LADY CALAVERA (D Schwarz) took an awkward stride and became unbalanced at approximately the 1200m. Thereafter Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with LADY CALAVERA in running and eased this filly out of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Shortly before the finish line, KIND JUDY (M Yeni) was brushed out by WONDERING STAR (C Zackey), which hung out from the 300m, proving difficult to assist. c) Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with DAME OF FLAMES in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to DAME OF FLAMES, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 11 February 2022 to 17 February 2022. DAME OF FLAMES may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A B Fortune was advised. e) SYBARIS (IRE) (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LADY CALAVERA raced with a pressure halter (declared 9 February 2022 at 10H35). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) DAME OF FLAMES mouth injury; abnormal respiratory noise. b) ANATURA blowing post race. c) RAINY SEASON blowing post race. d) LADY CALAVERA pulled up lame. Specimens collected for analysis. Veterinary report required prior to entry. Rule 49.7 applies. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
