THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GEORGE HANDEL (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Prior to the running of Race 3, when the horses were in the front parade ring, HERECOMESTHERAIN (Wes Marwing) became fractious, got loose from its Handler and bolted up the chute to the back parade ring. HERECOMESTHERAIN (Wes Marwing) injured itself during this incident and was subsequently scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that CHOCOLATE BOMB took a number of awkward strides in running. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) BEADED GOWN (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer P Dlhamini, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LAW OF SUCCESS raced equipped with blinkers (declared 2 November 2023 at 08H47). b) HERECOMESTHERAIN was carded to race without blinkers (declared 2 November 2023 at 08H49). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CHOCOLATE BOMB examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
