THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BIG FELLA (E Webber) was restless in the stalls and rushed the front gates.
b)	TREASURE HUNT (D Schwarz) was restless in the stalls and threw its head down as the start was effected.
c)	LORD VARYS (C Maujean) and KNIGHTS TABLE (X Ndlovu) were restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	QUESTION MASTER (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockey L Mxothwa reported that he felt something amiss with QUESTION MASTER. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	Jockey X Ndlovu reported that KNIGHTS TABLE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	Jockey R Fourie reported that CLIMATE CONTROL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d) 	In view of the performance of BIG FELLA (E Webber), which proved difficult to settle in the early stages and was hanging in from the 400m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e)	RED WILLIAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised. (LM)
