THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) UNYIELDING (R Fourie) and BEYOND THE RUNWAY (D Schwarz) pulled hard in the early and middle stages. b) RIMAAH (K Minnie) was hanging in from the 500m. c) Approaching the 150m AERIAL VIEW (M Yeni), which was hanging in, had to be checked and made contact with ACT NATURALLY (*RA Venniker) when CHRONICLESOFNANIA (C Maujean) shifted out slightly away from the crop and was immediately straightened. Shortly thereafter ACT NATURALLY (*RA Venniker), which was hanging in, had to be steadied away from the heels of EASY LIVING (*KJ Lihaba), which was hanging in, rolled in and had to be straightened. The Stewards, after reviewing this incident, were of the opinion that all of AERIAL VIEW (M Yeni), ACT NATURALLY (*RA Venniker) and EASY LIVING (*KJ Lihaba) had been hanging in and racing awkwardly at the time when this incident occurred and therefore could not hold any individual rider responsible. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that UNYIELDING did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) CHRONICLESOFNANIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised.
