THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	LUCE VERDE (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The starting stalls were attended to and tested prior to the running of this race.
b)	Leaving the 400m Jockey C Orffer hesitated with his riding when close to the heels of PREVALENCE (G van Niekerk), which was hanging out, shifted out and had to be straightened.
c) 	Approaching the 50m QUATERMAIN (C Zackey) had to be checked when tightened for galloping room between RULE OF THUMB (C Bantam) and PREVALENCE (G van Niekerk). An Inquiry will be held into this incident.
d)	Jockey R Fourie reported that LEXICAN POINT took an awkward stride approaching the 700m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with WINTER FROLIC. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that he felt something amiss with GREEN MANDARIN,  eased this gelding out of the race from the 150m and dismounted after the finish.
g)	GREEN MANDARIN (A Mgudlwa) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr L Brewis)
h)	RULE OF THUMB, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (CvA)
